Growth in Benefit Auctions
The National Auctioneers Association's annual survey of its membership found that benefit or charity auctions in 2007 were one of the fasting growing, in terms of revenue produced, segments of the auction industry. The survey, conducted by Morpace, Inc., found that benefit auction revenue in 2007 grew to $16.2 billion, an increase of 4.1% over the 2006 level.  This growth confirms that more and more charities, civic groups, schools, and other organizations are recognizing that an annual fundraising auction event is one of the most productive and enjoyable means available for raising the money necessary for accomplishment of their vital mission(s).
